There are plenty of ways to contribute—some roles need regular commitment, while others are more flexible. No experience? No problem! We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, and training is available where needed.
We’re a friendly, supportive club, and even a small commitment helps lighten the load for everyone.

Be at the Heart of the Action - Become an Athletics Official!
Officials are vital in ensuring fair and safe competition, keeping events running smoothly, and upholding the integrity of the sport. We urgently need Starters Assistants, Field Judges, Track Judges, and Timekeepers to support our athletes.
Why Volunteer?

Play a crucial role—without officials, competitions can’t happen!

Earn points for the club at league events and become an essential part of the team.
Commitment

Support league events across the Midlands, just 3–4 weekends each summer.

Begin with a basic training course, followed by 2.5–4 hours of online learning and hands-on experience.
Requirements

No previous knowledge needed—just an enthusiasm for athletics and the confidence to ask questions when needed.

Treasurer
The club needs to maintain accurate financial records and produce simple monthly accounts for committee meetings and annually for approval at the AGM. The accounts are reviewed by an independent person each year.
Why Volunteer?
Use your financial and spreadsheet skills to support the club maintain accurate records
Provide information to help the committee make financial decisions
Commitment
Maintain a simple spreadsheet of income and expenditure and regularly reconcile to the club’s bank account.
Pay invoices and expense claims using online banking/banking app.
Keep well-organised copies of back up documents (eg invoices/expense claims) to enable annual independent review of accounts.
Produce simple monthly accounts for committee meetings and annual accounts and a Treasurer’s Report for the AGM.
Monthly committee meetings (third Thursday of the month 8pm to 10pm). Up to around 1 hour per week to make payments/update spreadsheet.
Requirements
Confident with numbers and able to use Microsoft Excel and online banking/banking app.
Able to maintain electronic records in a logical and organised manner.

Minutes Secretary
The committee meet regularly to discuss ongoing issues & generate plans to further develop the club for the members, the discussions need to be formally documented & communicated.

Support the club in recording & communicating actions for resolution.

Monthly committee meetings (third Thursday of the month 8pm to 10pm).
Requirements
Good listening skills.
ability to listen & write notes of the salient points raised during committee meeting discussions
after the meeting write up notes into a predefined minutes format & distribute to the committee by email

Team Manager for Track & Field League
As a team manager, you play a crucial role in the success of the team. It’s up to you to pull together the best team possible and to get the most out of them at competition. It’s not always about the athletes winning – sometimes it’s about them doing their best or even improving on their personal best. The best team managers make all competitions enjoyable and ensure good team morale; this approach leads to long term success by retaining and developing athletes for longer.
